Terms of Service

Last Updated: May 27, 2026 — Effective Immediately

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing scarredtools.com or placing an order with Scarred Tool Maker ("we," "us," "the Tool Maker"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use our services.

These Terms apply to all visitors, customers, and anyone who submits a quote request or places an order through our website.

2. Services

Scarred Tool Maker provides custom 3D printing, design, and print-on-demand services including but not limited to:

  • Printing customer-provided STL files (print-on-demand)
  • Custom part design and fabrication
  • Personalized nameplates, keychains, tags, and similar items
  • Functional workshop and organizational parts

All services are subject to availability, material supply, printer capacity, and our sole discretion to accept or decline any order.

3. Order Process

Submitting a quote request does not constitute a binding order. The order process is as follows:

  • Customer submits a quote request via the website
  • The Tool Maker reviews the request and communicates with the customer to confirm specifications
  • A final price is agreed upon between the Tool Maker and the customer
  • The Tool Maker sends a Stripe Payment Link to the customer's provided email address
  • A binding order is created only upon successful payment via the Stripe Payment Link
  • Printing begins after payment is confirmed

We reserve the right to decline any order at any time before payment is received, for any reason, without obligation.

4. Pricing and Payment

All prices are quoted in US Dollars (USD). Price estimates shown on the website are non-binding and for reference only. Final pricing is determined by the Tool Maker after reviewing the specific requirements of each order.

Factors affecting final price include but are not limited to: material type, estimated filament weight, print complexity, infill percentage, support requirements, post-processing, and turnaround urgency.

Payment is processed exclusively through Stripe. We accept all major credit and debit cards supported by Stripe. We do not accept cash, checks, cryptocurrency, or payment via any other method.

Shipping costs are not included in quoted prices and will be added to the final invoice before the payment link is issued.

5. Turnaround Time

Estimated turnaround times are provided as a good-faith estimate only and are not a binding guarantee. Standard turnaround is approximately 5–7 business days after payment confirmation for reasonable-sized orders.

Actual turnaround may be longer depending on print size, complexity, queue volume, material availability, print failures requiring reruns, or circumstances outside our control. We will communicate proactively if delays are anticipated.

Scarred Tool Maker is not liable for any losses, damages, or inconvenience resulting from delayed delivery.

6. Slicing and Pre-Print Review

For applicable orders, the Tool Maker will prepare a slice preview for customer review before printing begins. The customer will have a reasonable number of opportunities to request adjustments to the slice settings.

The Tool Maker reserves the right to determine, at their sole discretion, when a print request cannot be fulfilled to a satisfactory standard given the model geometry, material constraints, or technical limitations. In such cases, no payment will be charged and the order will be declined with an explanation.

Once the customer approves the slice and payment is received, printing begins. No further slice adjustments will be made without additional charge.

7. Refund and Reprint Policy

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds once printing has begun.

Manufacturing defects: If your print arrives with a clear manufacturing defect — including but not limited to significant layer delamination, dimensional error materially different from the approved slice, incomplete prints, or structural failure attributable to our printing process — we will reprint the item or issue a refund at our discretion. Defect claims must be submitted within 7 days of delivery with photographic evidence.

Customer-provided errors: We are not responsible for defects, failures, or unsatisfactory results arising from:

  • Incorrect dimensions or specifications provided by the customer
  • Non-manifold, corrupted, or unprintable STL files provided by the customer
  • Customer changing their mind about design, color, or material after payment
  • Inherent limitations of the chosen material for the intended use case
  • Post-delivery damage, misuse, or application beyond the material's rated capabilities

No refunds or reprints will be issued for customer-provided errors.

8. Shipping and Delivery

We ship to addresses within the United States only. We do not currently ship internationally.

Shipping is via USPS First Class or Priority Mail depending on package size and weight. A tracking number will be provided upon shipment.

Risk of loss passes to the customer upon handoff to the carrier. Scarred Tool Maker is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged packages once in carrier custody. Customers are encouraged to contact USPS directly for carrier-related claims.

Delivery timeframes provided by USPS are estimates and not guaranteed. We are not liable for shipping delays caused by the carrier.

9. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Items

We will print any item that is legal to manufacture and possess in the United States. We reserve the right to decline any order at our sole discretion.

We will not print items that are:

  • Illegal to manufacture, possess, or distribute under applicable federal, state, or local law
  • Functional firearms, firearm components, suppressors, or items regulated under the National Firearms Act or Gun Control Act
  • Items designed to circumvent safety mechanisms on regulated products
  • Items that infringe on a third party's registered trademark or patent rights where we have been formally notified of the infringement

Age-restricted items (including but not limited to smoking accessories and devices) will only be fulfilled for customers who confirm they meet the minimum age requirement under applicable law. By ordering such items, you represent that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction.

The customer is solely responsible for ensuring that any item they order is legal to receive and possess in their jurisdiction. Scarred Tool Maker assumes no liability for customer misuse or illegal possession of printed items.

10. Intellectual Property

Original designs by Scarred Tool Maker: All original designs created by the Tool Maker — whether produced for a customer order or independently — remain the exclusive intellectual property of Scarred Tool Maker. Customers purchasing a print of an original design receive a single-use physical product only. No design rights, reproduction rights, or commercial licenses are transferred by the sale of a physical print.

Commercial licensing of original designs may be made available separately through our licensing program. Unauthorized reproduction, resale, or commercial use of our original designs without a valid license is prohibited.

Customer-provided files: When you submit an STL file or design for printing, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own the file or have the legal right to have it printed
  • The file does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
  • You have any required commercial licenses if applicable

Scarred Tool Maker is not responsible for verifying the IP status of customer-provided files, including links to community platforms such as Thingiverse, MakerWorld, Printables, or similar repositories. Any legal liability arising from unauthorized reproduction of third-party intellectual property rests solely with the customer.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our services and products are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind beyond those expressly stated in these Terms. We do not warrant that printed items will be suitable for any particular purpose beyond what was agreed at time of order.

3D printed parts are not certified for safety-critical applications including but not limited to: structural load-bearing components, medical devices, food contact applications, automotive safety systems, or electrical enclosures. Customer assumes all risk for any application of printed parts beyond decorative or light-duty functional use.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Scarred Tool Maker's total liability to any customer for any claim arising from or related to our services shall not exceed the amount paid by that customer for the specific order giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of Florida.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

For orders already in progress at the time of a Terms update, the Terms in effect at the time of payment confirmation will govern that order.
